Back in 1973 Carles Riart, a real cult figure in the field of furniture design, made one of the very first post modern chairs and called it Silla Desnuda (Naked Chair), with the conceptual drive to make the bare structure of a chair that should be completed, or dressed, by the buyer.
To celebrate its 50 th anniversary, Architect Silvia García Camps decided to invite seven contemporary designers to dress the chair from a contemporary perspective, using six chairs found and restored by chair collectors Gerard Dago, Stefano Colli and Luis Cerveró, plus a seventh one provided by Riart himself.

The seven designers invited to participate were Bastida for Work, Bet Callieri, Camisas Manolo, Gabriel for Sach, Georgelia Studio, Rosa Tharrats and Rubearth. And their chairs were exhibited in three consecutive exhibitions at Nave Seis, Il.lacions gallery and the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona, between the spring and fall of 2023. Photographer Claudia Mauriño shot all resulting chairs, except Gabriel for Sach's submission, who didn't make the deadline for the studio session (but was indeed in the final exhibitions).

This publication shows six of the chairs from front and back perspectives, a sneak-peek into each designer's creative process, and a thorough interview conducted by Luis Cerveró at Carles Riart's home discussing archival material about the original creation of the chair, and its presence in the seventies and eighties.
It also includes a folded poster of one of Riart's numerous watercolors illustrations featuring the Silla Desnuda.
