Portrait Mode
The publication features a new essay by the artist, photographer, author and filmmaker Moyra Davey. Through aphoristic texts, combined with her own photographic images, Davey weaves together her experiences as a photographer with reflections on canonical practitioners and theorists of the medium. With a particular focus on image composition and the use of light, chance and temporality, Davey examines the work of photographers who have challenged the conventions of (self-)portraiture and representation, linking their approaches to contemporary queer and feminist figures within the genre. ***** Portrait Mode presents a new essay by artist, photographer, writer and filmmaker Moyra Davey.
